The action 'Christmas Tree for Heroes' is held to honor the memory of the defenders of Ukraine and maintain and strengthen family customs, activists said. The Euromaidan revolution 2013-2014 eventually led to the ouster of President Viktor Yanukovych, creating political rifts throughout the country that erupted into a violent conflict between pro-Russian separatists and government forces in the eastern part of the country in the spring of 2014 and become the first step to the Russian invasion in 2022.
