Some scenes from the music video for RM’s latest solo song “Wild Flower” were filmed on Mount Hwangmae in Hapcheon County, South Gyeongsang, according to local reports Friday.
Hapcheon County officials confirmed the news that BTS's RM had visited the site in October at the top of the mountainside, which is located 1,108 meters (3,635 feet) above sea level.
The shoot took place around sunrise under the county’s permission and filming centered on the silver grass and the wide open view of the mountains.
“We’ve been told that RM chose Mount Hwangmae because its peak fits well with the music video’s concept,” an official from the county told Yonhap.
Mount Hwangmae’s summit is known to have a huge silver grass area of 1 million square meters. Due to its beauty, it has frequently featured in films, drama series and documentaries.
CNN selected it as one of 50 “beautiful places to visit” in Korea in 2019.
“Though the mountain is already a tourist favorite, we’re expecting to get more visitors thanks to RM’s music video,” the official added.
RM’s first solo album “Indigo,” with “Wild Flower” as its lead track, was released earlier this month and has been seeing positive reviews.
