LG Electronics will display its luxury shoe shelf and a virtual pair of shoes at the upcoming CES 2023.
The electronics maker said Wednesday it will issue “Monster Shoes,” a non-fungible token (NFT) pair of shoes that comes in 5,500 different designs, in January. The virtual shoes were jointly developed with the department of game and virtual reality design at Induk University.
The virtual shoe NFTs can be collected through the LG ThinQ app. LG ThinQ is a device control app for LG’s smart home appliances.
During the CES 2023 trade show, LG’s virtual shoes will be on display in its LG Styler ShoeCase as a hologram or as a physical mockup.
LG Styler ShoeCase and ShoeCare are shoe storage and display devices that were first introduced in September during the IFA 2022 tech fair in Berlin.
LG Electronics will begin selling its Styler ShoeCase and Shoecare in Korea in the first half of next year.
The exterior of the devices will be made with recycled plastic, the company said.
LG Electronics previously said that it would introduce a built-in refrigerator, which the company says has the largest storage capacity in the market, also at CES 2023.
CES 2023 will run from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8 in Las Vegas.
