A record number of household heads in Korea are doing side jobs, according to a Monday statistical release.
A total of 368,000 heads of households were engaged in extra employment in the first three quarters of the year, Yonhap reports.
That's up from 331,000 in the first three quarters of 2021, and 272,000 in the first three quarters of 2013.
Of the 547,000 people in Korea doing extra jobs, heads of households — defined as the main breadwinner of a family — were 63.7 percent of the total.
The numbers are from a Federation of Korean Industries economically active population survey using Statistics Korea data.
