HONG KONG -- Businesswire -- After a four-year hiatus, the Hong Kong Cyclothon successfully concluded at the roaring cheers from excited spectators for thousands of cyclists participating the cycling extravaganza on 18 December. It returned as one of the largest outdoor sports events in Hong Kong this year, drawing nearly 4,000 cycling enthusiasts and professional cyclists to take to the street along spectacular landmark infrastructures and iconic Victoria Harbour.

Cyclists taking part in the thrilling 50 km and 30 km rides enjoyed the exclusive experience of cycling on major traffic routes along spectacular landmarks and infrastructures in Hong Kong. The peloton was welcomed by the gentle light at the break of dawn as they sped across Stonecutters Bridge and tunnels, as well as the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Xiqu Centre and the International Commerce Centre (ICC). It is a rewarding experience to marvel at the splendid beauty in Hong Kong from new perspectives in person among a fleet of joyous riders who overcame the challenging turns and slopes together.

After the amateur cyclists streaked past the finish line in Tsim Sha Tsui, professional cycling athletes staged a series of intense battles for the win on the other side of the city centre. The keen competition among the riders heated up the winter air as the audience tried to catch the racing bikes overtaking each other at high speed in front of the panoramic view of the iconic Victoria Harbour skyline.
