LG Electronics won the "Corporate Startup Star Award" in the East Asia regional category for its cooperation with start-ups.
The award is given by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to recognize corporations that are active in collaborating with start-ups.
The electronics maker said on Friday that the achievement was attributed to its joint projects like LG Future Home. LG Future Home is designed to find start-ups to work with on different features to be installed in LG’s home appliances.
LG Nova is another initiative designed to nurture 20 start-ups to run different pilot projects with LG using funding from the company with the company’s North American Innovation Center spearheading the project.
A total of 100 companies from all over the world have been named winners in the 2022 Corporate Startup Stars awards.
The award was launched in 2016 under the European Commission's Startup Europe Partnership initiative, in partnership with the ICC.
