Former professional footballer and member of the national team Ahn Jung-hwan said he won't take the head coach job for the Korean national team.
MBC commentator Seo hyung-wook asked Ahn Monday whether he would be willing to take the head coaching job during an interview on his YouTube channel.
“I have no plans to be a coach or leader for the national team,” said Ahn in the interview.
Ahn had been mentioned as a prospective replacement for head coach Paulo Bento after Bento’s decision to leave the job following the World Cup in Qatar. Ahn has no coaching experience, but has had a great career in football and has remained close to the sport through his job as a commentator.
