SBS’s hit variety show “Running Man” will change its time slot from 5 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. from Jan. 1, the local broadcaster announced on Monday.
The series, which airs Sundays, was designated by local streaming platform Wavve as “this year’s variety show” for two consecutive years from 2020. The show, which started airing from 2010, is one of the longest-airing variety shows. The cast members — Yu Jae-seok, Haha, Jee Seok-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-hyo, Jeon So-min and Yang Se-chan — also enjoy massive fandom overseas.
The production staff behind the show are reportedly changing the airing time in the hopes of expanding the show's target audience from teens to the older generation.
“We are planning a greater variety of races in light of moving our airing time, to bring more delight and laughter to the viewers,” the staff said.
