Local streaming platform Tving released the lineup for its upcoming original content next year.

Highly-anticipated fantasy series “Island,” featuring Kim Nam-gil, Lee Da-hee, Cha Eun-woo and Seong Joon, will be the first to air.

The series is scheduled to start streaming in Tving and Amazon Prime Video from Dec. 30. The series, set on Jeju Island, revolves around three protagonists destined to fight against evil that wants to destroy the world.

“Duty After School,” scheduled to air next year, is based on a popular Naver Webtoon with the same title. The series revolves around students in their final year of high school who are recruited by the army for a war against strange purple orbs which rain down from the sky. Actors such as Kim Ki-hae, Shin Hyun-soo, Lim Se-mi will star as the protagonists.

“Cruel Intern” (translated), fronting two veteran female actors — Ra Mi-ran and Uhm Ji-won — as leads, centers around a woman in her 40s who becomes an intern again after her career has been stalled for seven years.

A spinoff series of the hit tvN drama franchise “Stranger” (2017, 2020) and teen romance series “Everything We Have Loved” (translated) will be released next year.

Hit producer Kim Tae-ho behind MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” (2005-18) and Tving original show “Seoul Check-in” (2022) is expected to launch a new show next year, although specific details have not been announced yet.

“Ticketing on Two Feet” (translated) will feature actors Ha Jung-woo, Ju Ji-hoon, Choi Min-ho and Yeo Jin-goo on a road trip while survival show “The Dessert” centers on the best pastry chefs in the country and challenges them to come up with sweet treats.

Popular reality shows are returning for another season.

Tving will release the third seasons of “Transit Love 2” and “High School Mystery Club 2” next year.

“Witch Hunt 2022” and “Between Marriage and Divorce” will also return for second seasons.

Music documentary “K-pop Generation,” which reviews the history of K-pop from the perspective of iconic K-pop artists and its fandom, will also be released next year.

A total of six new original series and 11 variety shows were included in the lineup.
