Clothing and footwear prices in Korea rise to 10-year high in November

Clothing and footwear prices rose to a 10-year high last month mainly due to surging commodity price amid global supply bottlenecks, according to the Korean Statistical Information Service (KOSIS) on Monday. Consumer price index for clothing and footwear rose 5.5 percent on-year to 107.33 in November. Consequently, consumer prices last month increased 5.0 percent, rising for seven straight months. Core inflation—the index excluding agricultural products and petroleum—also rose 4.8 percent, the highest since February 2009.
