Music from K-pop acts J-Hope of BTS and NewJeans made it on Rolling Stone’s list of The 100 Best Albums of 2022 on Thursday.
J-Hope’s solo album “Jack in the Box,” which was released in July, ranked No. 9, while NewJeans’ debut EP “New Jeans” ranked No. 46.
Rolling Stone wrote that “J-Hope set the bar high with ‘Jack in the Box’” and that fans “can be pretty sure they won’t be disappointed with his future offerings.”
For “New Jeans,” Rolling Stone wrote that the girl group has “a strong foundation to evolve and grow from.”
J-Hope won Most Popular Male Artist this year at the 2022 Mnet Asian Music Awards and is the first member of BTS to have officially made a solo debut.
Songs “Hype Boy,” “Attention” and “Cookie” from the "New Jeans" album all landed on the music charts of Billboard and Spotify.
