The Hanwha Eagles on Tuesday signed free agent infielder Oh Sun-jin on a one-plus-one deal worth 400 million won ($300,000).

Oh, who returns to the Hanwha Eagles after spending a year and five months with the Samsung Lions, will earn 100 million won in salary for the first year with a 150 million won signing bonus and 25 million in incentives. At the end of the 2023 season, the Eagles retain the option to extend Oh's contract for another year.

Oh debuted in the KBO in 2008 after being picked up by the Eagles in the fourth round of the second rookie draft. Oh was traded for Lee Sung-kon of the Samsung Lions in June of 2021.

“I believe Oh will be able to adapt quickly because he played with the Eagles for a long time,” said Hangwha Eagles general manager Son Hyuk.

“I also believe that Oh will be able to help out rookie infielders as a veteran player.”

Over 15 seasons in the KBO, Oh played 1,019 games and has a career .242 batting average with 215 RBIs, 215 knocks, 47 runs and 18 home runs to his name.

In the 2022 season spent with the Lions, Oh had a .276 batting average with 24 RBIs, and three homers.

"I am very happy to be back with the Eagles,” said Oh. “I am grateful that the club offered a deal again. There are more new players since I left so I feel the responsibility and hope that I can be help to the team. I will do my best so that the club can play better next season.”

As of press time, there are eight players left in the free agent market. Free agent pitchers Han Hyun-hee, Jeong Chan-heon, Kim Jin-sung, Lee Jae-hak, Kang Yoon-goo, free agent infielders Shin Bon-ki, and free agent outfielders Kwon Hui-dong, Lee Myung-ki have not been signed yet.
