Saudi delegation tours Naver hyper-tech building with digital twin solution

According to Naver on Tuesday, 23 Saudi government officials including Majid Al-Hogail, Minister of Housing, and Ali Rajhi, Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing visited Naver’s second headquarters dubbed 1784 in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province on the same day.
Naver COO Chae Seon-ju, Naver Labs CEO Seok Sang-ok and Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yoo-won gave a tour for the delegation to showcase innovations of digital twin, robotics, AI, cloud and data centers. Early this month, Naver pitched its digital twin and robotics technologies necessary for smart city construction in Saudi Arabia.
During the latest visit, both sides discussed how digital technologies can be applied to traffic, safety and sanitary solutions as well as on home and building management, Naver said. It presented digital twin solution ARC eye for global foray. The solution is to build digital twins of indoor and outdoor spaces and enhances both efficiency and accuracy by leveraging AI-based location APIs and an array of mapping devices for AR, robots and smart buildings.
Korea’s top IT companies have been eager in incorporating digital twin solutions.
Samsung Electronics also has recently unveiled it applied AI-based digital twin on chip manufacturing lines at home to reduce complicated process and maximize the yield through real-time production monitoring at the AI Forum 2022.
POSCO ICT also has been establishing a digital twin steel mill in cooperation with POSCO by applying 3D visualization and simulation technologies to the Pohang and Gwangyang plants. They aim to complete the work by 2025.
LG CNS is working on a digital twin project to create a 3D digital twin of Government Complex Sejong. Once completed, it will bring innovation to management of public facilities, it expects.
The Ministry of Science and ICT this year allocated 26 billion won ($19.7 million) in government budget to support various digital twin projects, up 33 percent from last year.
