Net ETF assets in Korea hits $60 bn milestone 20 years since debut

The total net assets of exchange traded funds reached milestone of 80.5 trillion won ($60 billion) since the investment instrument was introduced 2 decades ago. ETF assets gained from 74 trillion won at the end of last year as more than 6 trillion won worth of new funds flowed in despite a sluggish stock market. This year saw 23 ETF newcomers. The daily average trade value of ETFs versus the benchmark Kospi was 38.7% at the end of last month.
