Musk sees Korea as one of top candidates for EV gigafactory hosts: Pres office

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk sees South Korea as one of the top candidate locations for its plan to add a gigafactory for production of finished EVs in Asia as he praised quality Korea-made automotive components, according to the Korean presidential office. His remarks was made during a virtual meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol on Wednesday morning after their face-to-face meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit and B20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia last week was cancelled. Yoon asked Musk to consider investment in Korea and vowed deregulatory moves, if needed.
