K-pop hopefuls in Japan perform during the third and final round of "Audition K" at the Korean Cultural Center in Tokyo, on Saturday. "Audition K" was hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Cultural Center in an effort to discover young K-pop stars who have the potential in both Korea and Japan. Some 700 people signed up for the first round of auditions in September, according to the Korean Cultural Center. At the end of the second round, the group was narrowed down to 40. They were split into eight teams and received vocal, dance and Korean language lessons for one month before showing off their skills on Saturday. Employees from eight Korean entertainment agencies and the public were the judges. Three groups made the finals. [KOREAN CULTURAL CENTER]
