The mother of late actor Lee Ji-han uploaded a letter to her son through his Instagram account on Friday.
Lee died on Oct. 29 during the crowd crush in central Seoul’s Itaewon, which claimed over 150 lives. He was scheduled to be part of the upcoming MBC series “Season of Kkokdu.”
“I write this letter hoping my son can read this somewhere,” the mother wrote. She also uploaded a baby picture and the actor's profile picture to the post. “I want to spread [the tragedy] to everyone so that nothing like this ever happens to anyone again.
“You went through so much before filming for ‘Season of Kkokdu’ began,” she said. “You worked out daily and I was always so heartbroken when you asked, ‘mother, can I eat this?’ because you were on a diet [...] I still cannot believe what happened because it’s so absurd and preposterous.”
Lee's mother ended the letter by wishing for peace for her son.
The actor first became known to the public in 2018 through season 2 of Mnet’s hit idol audition show “Produce 101." He debuted as an actor the following year through the web series “Today Was Another Nam Hyeon Day.”
