To keep its e-commerce leadership, South Korea’s Naver Corp. is supplying online vendors real-time delivery update to build confidence with its merchants and shoppers.

The South Korean IT giant last week unveiled the “arrival guarantee” program that provides its Smartstore tenants various sale and logistics data, ranging from order data to inventories at warehouse and delivery status at courier service providers.

Through the new program, merchants at Naver’s SmartStore e-commerce platform will be able to guarantee their customers the delivery of ordered items on time and access to Naver’s consignment and logistics data to use them in setting up planning and marketing strategies.

According to industry sources, Naver will officially launch the new “arrival guarantee” solution in December. It also plans to ensure a half of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), such as milk and packaged foods that are sold quickly, to benefit from the on-time delivery guarantee by 2025 by enhancing partnership with fulfillment center operators such as CJ Logistics.

Naver has been endeavoring to differentiate its e-commerce service with other big players like Coupang, which directly controls the whole e-commerce process from sale to delivery. Global e-commerce giant Amazon is another e-commerce operator that controls the whole e-commerce supply chain from warehousing, fulfillment, inventory management to last-mile delivery.

Naver plans to continue to leverage on partner network in bettering e-commerce solutions.
