Samsung Electronics adds trade and environment experts to its board

Samsung Electronics appointed Yoo Myung-hee, a former trade minister, and Heo Eun-nyeong, a professor of energy resources engineering at Seoul National University, as independent directors on its board during an extraordinary general meeting on Thursday. The appointment indicates that the company is to better react to international situations and put focus on environment management. The extraordinary general meeting was held ahead of the annual shareholders meeting in March to ensure the independence of the board, according to Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee.
