Muhammad Taqi spoke to OneFootball about being the first ever Video Assistant Referee (VAR) from Singapore and the Southeast Asian region to referee at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
"It kills that spur of the moment of excitement for the fans," said Taqi. "But on the other hand, I think when it relates to seeing a deserving team go and win the game or a deserving team go to the next round of the tournament. I think when it comes to VAR decisions it really helps."
The 2022 World Cup kicks off on Nov. 20 in Qatar.
