Doosan Vina, Doosan Enerbility’s Vietnamese subsidiary, will supply substructures for offshore wind turbines to Denmark’s Osted, the company said Thursday.

Doosan Enerbility and Osted signed a memorandum of understanding during the Denmark-Vietnam Sustainable Energy Summit held in Hanoi, Vietnam, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the two countries’ trade relations.

Doosan Vina will supply monopile foundations, which are steel tubes that are driven into the seabed to hold up offshore wind turbines, for Osted’s projects in Southeast Asia, Asia Pacific and Europe.

“Founded in 2007, Doosan Vina has been supplying key components for power and chemical plants, and harbor cranes to some 30 countries worldwide,” said Kim Hyo-tae, Doosan Vina CEO. “With the cooperation with Osted, we will expand our standing in the global offshore wind farm market, which includes Vietnam where a 7-gigawatt offshore wind plant is scheduled to be built by 2030.”
