Russia dispatches one of six giant magnetic coils for ITER project in France

The PF-1 coil with a diameter of nine meters and a mass of 160 tons, is one of the six coils of the poloidal field in the magnetic system, which serves to contain the plasma in the international experimental thermonuclear reactor ITER. ITER is a nuclear fusion program with the participation of 35 countries. Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, the giant coil was dispatched on 01 November from Russia heading to Southern France where the work on the ITER project is taking place.
