Korean platform majors face rising legal challenges in line with their widening influence apart from Kakao whose system crash has invited a flurry of suits including class action.

Kakao and Naver face criminal charges for their service breakdown from a data center fire last weekend. Kakao malfunction that lasted days sacked one of its CEO and promised compensations. It nevertheless would face civil and criminal lawsuits.

Naver is preparing a trial with the Fair Trade Commission in the count of abuse of dominant position. It has been accused of forcing a real estate data firm to sign a contract not to share the information with other sites.

Its legal and tax consulting platform Naver eXpert has been accused of violating the local attorney at law.

Wesang, the operatory food delivery platform Yogiyo, has been engaged in a lawsuit with a diner for cancelling contract for refusing its demand to keep charges cheapest for the platform.
