Suzuki manufacturing plant in Esztergom

A subsidiary of Japan's Suzuki Motor Corporation, Magyar (meaning Hungarian) Suzuki Corporation was founded in 1991. The following year, one thousand vehicles were produced in the plant, and one car took three days to finish. Today?s current production rate is an average of 700 cars per day. A finished vehicle rolls off the production line every 85 seconds, and completion from scratch takes one day. At present, two models, Vitara and the SX4 S-Cross are manufactured in Esztergom. As of 2020, the plant supplies hybrid cars for the EU market. In 2021, hybrid vehicles made up 65 percent of production volume, 88 percent of which was made for export. Since 2019, Magyar Suzuki has been the Suzuki Group?s European base of spare parts and accessories, besides supplying a nationwide network of 78 dealerships. The company's 6.5 thousand square meter, mostly automatized supply centre stores and distributes 138 thousand types of products for destinations in 120 countries across five continents.
