Korean budget carrier T'way Air to fly to Sydney four times a week from Dec

South Korea’s T’way Air Co. will fly from Incheon, near Seoul, to Sydney, Australia, four times a week from December as the first non full-service carrier in Korea.

A330-300 aircraft with 347 seats will be deployed on the new route between Incheon and the popular Australian destination, flying four times a week from Dec. 23. To improve the customer satisfaction, it will provide 335 upgraded economy class seats with spacious legroom and 12 business class seats that could go fully flat.

T’way Air acquired the operation right two years ago for the first time among Korean low-cost carriers. In May, it launched the route between Incheon and Singapore as well. It eyes added revenue from long-haul flights.

The flight departs from Incheon at 10:20 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday to arrive in Sydney at 10:45 a.m. on the following day. The flight returns from Sydney at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday to land in Incheon at 9:05 p.m.

T’way Air opened its Sydney office in August and is going all-out to prepare for the successful new route service in various aspects both at home and Australia. Tickets will be available on its website and mobility app and web within the month, and various promotional perks will be offered to celebrate the launch.

T’way Air shares closed 0.94 percent lower at 1,575 won in Seoul on Thursday.
