Samsung Group de facto head Jay Y. Lee on Tuesday joined the celebration of the opening of Samsung Biologics’s fourth plant in Songdo, Incheon, which is the world’s largest single biopharma plant with an annual capacity of 240,000 liters. Construction took 7 years. Samsung Biologics’ total production capacity would reach 604,000 liters, which will cement its market leadership in global contract manufacturing. Samsung betting on bio as next chip will invest 7.5 trillion won ($5.2 billion) more over the next 10 years to add four more plants in the Songdo campus.
