South Korea’s two major conglomerates, POSCO Group and GS Group, will establish a battery recycling joint venture, “POSCO-GS Eco Materials,” at a total investment of 170 billion won ($120 million). With POSCO holding 51% and GS the rest, the JV will extract raw materials from used batteries for recycling and run a battery-as-a-service (Baas) business for battery leasing and swapping.
