Korea's three battery giants account for 25%, further behind China's CATL at 35.5% Jan-Aug

The combined market share of the three South Korean EV battery majors LG Energy Solution, SK on, and Samsung SDI stopped at 25 percent, while total usage of EV batteries in the world surged 78.7% to 287.6 gigawatt hours (GWh) during the January-August period. China’s CATL maintained its top spot, jumping 114.7% on year to 102.2 GWh with a market share of 35.5%, followed by LG Energy Solution up 10.0% to 39.4 GWh with a 13.7% market share. SK came in fifth, soaring 99.2% to 18.4 GWh during the same period with a market share of 6.4% and Samsung SDI expanded 59.7% to 14.2GWh for a market share of 4.9%.
