Salesman nicknamed DuDu Sister with Mustache performs on a market in Denizli

Feridun Altinok, 65, grew up in a poor family, ran away from home at the age of 12, and came to Istanbul. He worked as a porter for a while and started to sell clothes and souvenirs in public markets in Izmir, Antalya, and Ankara in the 1980s. Having met the actors of the Ankara State Theater in the mid-1980s, Altinok found himself on the stage. Trying to combine theater and being a salesman he started to attract the attention of customers by playing colorful characters in public markets. Turning public bazaars into theater stages, Altinok became famous with the rhymes he improvised. He returned to Denizli, the city where he was born, and got married. EPA/SEDAT SUNA
