Kospi ends above 2,150 after dipping to two-year instar-day low on Friday

South Korea’s benchmark stock index Kospi ended Friday at 2,155.49, down 0.71% from a previous session and recovering above 2,150 after hitting this year’s low of 2,134.77 in morning trade, which was also the lowest level since June 26, 2020. With the Korean won stabilizing in the 1,430 won level against U.S. dollar during the session, foreigners turned into net buyers, supporting Kospi. Foreigners and institutional investors net purchased 169.3 billion won and 106.9 billion won worth Kospi stocks, respectively, while retail investors dumped 281.5 billion won. The junior Kosdaq index closed at 672.65, down 0.36%. Korean won inched up 0.07% to 1,433.00 against U.S. dollar.
