Hyundai Mobis CEO elected as ISO president

Cho Sung-hwan, CEO of South Korean auto parts maker Hyundai Mobis, is elected as the president of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), becoming the first Korean to lead the international nongovernmental organization made up of national standards bodies and 167 member nations. Cho will play a key role in ISC affairs as president-elect in 2023 before starting his official two-year term in January 2024. Founded in 1947, ISO develops and publishes standardization in various industries, including automobiles, shipbuilding, and nuclear energy. South Korea earned its membership in 1963.
