Five-year anniversary of Rohingya people crisis

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), nearly 925,000 Rohingya refugees live in Bangladesh and Cox?s Bazar region after they fled Myanmar, especially since the start of the military crackdown in 2017 which the UN described as ethnic cleansing and possible genocide. Attempts for the repatriation of refugees from Bangladesh to Myanmar failed as Rohingyas refused to return home without a guarantee of citizenship and security. EPA/MONIRUL ALAM
