Try Everything, the annual startup fete, cohosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Maekyung Media Group and the Seoul Business Agency, will be held September 21 to 23 for this year under the theme “Zero to Hero: Unleashing the limits.”

Since its founding in 2020, Try Everything has become a networking platform for various members of the startup ecosystem including global startups, large and midsize companies, investors, and startup accelerators.

The event will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.

The keynote speakers on the first day of the event are Sebastien Borget, the CEO & Co-Founder of The Sandbox, and Sanjeev Khagram, the dean of Thunderbird School of Global Management.

The event will also include speakers from both abroad and Korea such as Philip Rosedale, the founder of Linden Lab, and Maya Rogers, the President & CEO of Tetris, as well as Kim Jong-yoon, the CEO of Yanolja, and Jeong Sae-ju, the CEO of Noom.

There will also be more than 40 programs including various competitions and seminars designed to help domestic startups make their foray into overseas markets and boost Seoul’s startup ecosystem.

Around 50 participating domestic and overseas organizations including the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Mercedes-Benz Korea, Continental Group, SKT, and KYOWON Group will work together to help startups grow.

The world’s largest startup competition Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), the U.S. Embassy in Korea, and U.S.-based innovation policy advisory and research firm Startup Genome will also provide opportunities for domestic and foreign startups to network at the event.

The “Try Everything 2022 Awards” will be held for the first time this year. The top 10 finalists will be awarded Seoul Mayor Awards and a total of 28 million won ($20,875) worth of startup support funds.

The previous two Try Everything events were held successfully with 1,434 startups, 549 global startup experts, and 150 investment companies from 21 countries around the world taking part despite the Covid-19 pandemic. There were 3,511 meet-ups and the participating startups were able to raise a total of 57.5 billion won last year.
