Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering last Wednesday was rewarded $2 million in bonus by Singapore-based shipper BW Group on top of payment for two LNG carriers. The “special bonus” for DSME was paid by BW in goodwill gesture in appreciation for the two’s long-term business partnership remaining intact despite various challenges. BW Group has been DSME’s customer of 30 years, having placed 71 shipbuilding orders since 1986.
