The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS 2022) opened to the public from 11 to 21 August 2022. The Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries reported that the sales of new cars in Indonesia throughout 2021 were 887,202 units, up 66.7 percent from 2020 which was 532,027 units in total, including the sales of hybrid and electric vehicles, which are increasing. Indonesia aims to increase the use of electric vehicles in the next few years, while also targeting that by 2050 all cars and motorcycles sold in Indonesia be electric vehicles. EPA/ADI WEDA
