Reservations for Blackpink’s second full-length album “Born Pink” open today.
“Born Pink” marks the globally popular girl group’s return to the music scene after a year and 10 months. Its last full-length album “The Album” was released in October 2020.
The physical edition of its upcoming album will be released in three versions: as a box set, kit album and LP. The reservations for the album will stay open until Sept. 15. From Sept. 16, the day of its official release, CDs will be available on online and offline stores.
According to YG Entertainment, the physical copies of the album were created with eco-friendly substances, such as low-carbon paper and ink made from soybean oil. The kit version of the album does not contain CDs, and was made with biodegradable plastic. The wrapping paper and plastic wrap were made out of extracted material from cornstarch.
The LP version is limited edition and will be shipped after Dec. 30.
Blackpink will release its single “Pink Venom” and its music video ahead of the album release on Aug. 19. The song is included in the new album.
On Tuesday, its agency YG Entertainment announced that the girl group will hold a world tour to promote the new album from Oct. 15.
A total of 36 locations for the concert "Born Pink" have been announced so far.
"Born Pink" will kick off in Seoul and continue to 25 more cities including Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, London, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Abu Dhabi, Jakarta, Manila, Melbourne and Sydney.
