South Korea’s SK Telecom will become responsible for 5G airspace network to enable urban aerial mobility under demonstration project consigned by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport. Korea’s top telecommunications firm successfully completed a pilot test for the 5G airspace network near the National Comprehensive Flight Test Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province. Based on the successful results, the firm plans to finish some sections of the Goheung K-UAM Grand Challenge Phase 1 demonstration flight route within the year.
