This raintree may be the largest of its kind in the US and it's received a protected designation from Fort Lauderdale city. Miami real estate developer Cymbal DLT, is developing a new eco-friendly multifamily apartment project in the same place where the tree is located and is paying the relocation of its six-story tall raintree to the Fort Lauderdale Riverwalk.
