Demonstration against arrests of protesters in Sri Lanka

Meanwhile, Colombo Fort Police has informed the occupying protesters to remove all illegal structures and unauthorized cultivated crops from the Galle Face Green and surrounding areas near the president's secretariat and to vacate the sites before 5 pm on August 5. Protesters have occupied the current protest site for over 118 days. Protests have been affecting the country for over four months as Sri Lanka faces its worst-ever economic crisis in decades due to the lack of foreign reserves, resulting in severe shortages in food, fuel, medicine, and imported goods.
