Shares of HYBE surged Friday after the revelation of NewJeans, a new girl group under the HYBE label ADOR.
HYBE’s shares finished trading at 167,000 won ($127.2) Friday, up 6.37 percent from the previous trading day.
This is the highest closing price for the company in more than a month since June 14, before the announcement of the suspension of group activities by BTS.
ADOR also released the music video for the girl group's song "Attention," the lead track for its upcoming debut album, through their official website and YouTube on Friday.
NewJeans is also known as “Min Hee-jin’s girl group,” because it was produced under the helm of Min, the star producer behind hit K-pop projects including SM Entertainment’s Girls Generation, SHINee, Exo, f(x) and NCT. Min served as the creative director of SM between 2002 to 2019, before joining HYBE in 2019 as the CEO of ADOR.
