South Korea’s leading tech firm Samsung Electronics released a “gaming hub” service that allows users to access game streaming content on all 2022 Samsung Smart TVs, Neo OLED 8K, and smart monitor series without a console or PC.

According to Samsung Electronics on Friday, it is rolling out the “Samsung Gaming Pub,” an all-in-one game streaming platform where players can instantly access and play games that have partnered with Samsung Electronics without having to download or purchase new hardware. Users can simply use their existing Bluetooth headsets and controllers to play the games.

Samsung Gaming Hub allows users to play popular games such as Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW, Google’s Stadia, Utomik, and Amazon Luna, which will soon be available as well.

Google Stadia and Utomik, however, are not yet available in Korea.

Users that have signed up for the subscription service will be able to play over 100 cloud games - a type of video game that uses remote servers in data centers - on their smart TVs such as “Forza Horizon 5,” “Halo Infinite,” and “Cyberpunk 2077.”

Samsung Electronics is planning to make Samsung Gaming Hub available on previous smart TV models as well, starting with last year’s smart TV models by the end of this year.

“The Samsung Gaming Hub combines Samsung’s leadership in streaming technology with our experience in creating the industry’s most cutting-edge hardware, removing the barriers to entry so people can just play,” said Lee Won-jin, President and Head of the Service Business Team at Samsung Electronics.

Users can also access not only games but also music, podcasts, and streaming services such as Twitch, YouTube, and Spotify on the Samsung Gaming Hub.

Shares of Samsung Electronics traded down 1.75 percent to 56,000 won during Friday midday trade.
