The world’s largest memory chip maker and smartphone seller Samsung Electronics paid a total of 14.8 trillion won ($11.44 billion) in taxes worldwide in 2021, up by 33.3% from 11.1 trillion won 2020. Of the total tax, 80% were paid in its home country South Korea, according to the company’s 2022 Sustainability Report released on Thursday.
