Wavve’s original reality show “Merry Queer,” centering around dating and relationships of LGBTQ couples, will launch on the streaming platform on July 8.
On Thursday, the streaming platform released a poster of the three MCs — Shin Dong-yeop, Hong Seok-cheon and Hani — smiling while looking up at a rainbow in a blue sky. The rainbow is used as a symbol for the LGBTQ community.
According to Wavve, “Merry Queer” is the first-ever coming-out romance reality show in which the couples date out in the open and consider marriage.
The first two episodes will become available from 11 a.m. on July 8 and will run for five weeks.
Hong is one of the few Korean celebrities in Korea who are openly gay. He was the first celebrity to come out, and opened up about his sexual preferences in 2000.
The streaming platform is to launch another dating show sometime in July titled "Man's Romance," where single, bisexual men reside together in a shared house and get to know each other.
