Samsung Elec, SK hynix share PIM chip process map with Korean academia

Samsung Electronics and SK hynix will share their processing-in-memory (PIM) technology, next-generation computing paradigm that integrates a processor with RAM on a single chip for improvement in data performance and power bottlenecks, with the academia to back their research in artificial intelligence and big data technologies through PIM, according to Korean science ministry on Monday.
