Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Euisun was watched and celebrated by all the top business tycoons of South Korea as he gave away his first daughter on Monday

Chung’s eldest daughter got married to the grandson of the country’s former Education Minister and the elder brother of now-defunct Daewoo Group’s founder Kim Woo-choong at the Chungdong First Methodist Church in Seoul, where Chung himself got married 27 years ago.

The wedding was attended by top business tycoons.

LG Group chairman Koo Gwang-mo arrived first, followed by the vice chairman of Samsung Electronics Jay Y. Lee who used the ceremony to show off his own daughter readying to go college. SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won was at the VIP table.

Chung’s daughter graduated from Wellesley College and is currently working at the U.S. branch of Hyundai Motor. Her husband graduated from Georgetown University and has completed master’s degree courses at Harvard University. His father is the founder of Nesscap, a battery startup that was acquired by Maxwell Technologies which was then taken over by Tesla in 2019.
