Lee Min-hyuk of boy band BTOB, also known by his rapper alias Huta, poses during Monday’s press conference for his second-full length album “Boom” at Blue Square in Yongsan District, central Seoul. The K-pop idol-turned-rapper's new album comes after three and a half years, during which he also served his mandatory military service.

“Boom” features a total of 12 tracks, in all of which Lee participated to write the music and lyrics.

“We encounter many kinds of emotions in our everyday lives, and each of us have songs in our minds that we think would suit those moments,” Lee said during the conference. "I hope people enjoy this album thinking of those various moments in their lives."

The lead track "Boom" is an intense dance and rap number with a sizzling trap beat. The subgenre of trap dubbed wonk trap may be an unfamiliar type of music in K-pop, but Lee says that is precisely what led him to incorporate it in his new lead track.

“I feel attracted to uniqueness,” he said during the conference. “By challenging myself to the genre, I thought I can do something one-of-a-kind and conceptual. I was confident a lot of people would enjoy it when combined with my looks and performance.” [CUBE ENTERTAINMENT]
