LG Energy Solution and Stallantis name their battery JV "NextStar Energy"

LG Energy Solution and Stallantis have named Canada-based battery JV “NextStar Energy.”

The $4 billion JV plant will begin construction in the second half of this year to start mass production in the first half of 2024. The batteries produced will be used in electric vehicles for car brands under Stallantis such as Chrysler and Jeep. Stellantis and LG Energy previously announced in March that they will together build a new 45 GWh battery cell factory in Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
