Yemeni artist Majed Al-Hamdani during wartime

epa09989687 Yemeni artist Majed Al-Hamdani works inside his studio at his family house on the outskirts of Sana'a, Yemen, 23 May 2022 (issued 01 June 2022). Due to the difficult financial conditions, Majed Al-Hamdani could not continue his university studies, worked as an art teacher at schools, where he developed his art skills. After the war erupted in March 2015, he lost his job at an institute and closed his studio in the capital, Sana'a. He had no safe haven other than his old village, Hamdan, on the northern outskirts of Sana'a, to where he returned with artworks and brushes to turn some rooms of his family house into a new studio.
