Jungwoo of NCT 127 has tested positive for Covid-19, SM Entertainment announced Wednesday.
Jungwoo took a PCR test after returning to Korea from Japan and the test came out positive. The label said the PCR test he took in Japan a day before leaving came out negative.
“He has received three shots of a vaccine and has no symptoms,” the label said in a statement. “We will halt all his activities and he will be staying at home to quarantine.”
He was returning back home from a concert in Japan, “Neo City: Japan-The-Link,” that began on May 22 and lasted until May 30.
The other members have tested negative, the label added.
Meanwhile, Taeil of NCT 127 could not join the other members for the Japan concert as he tested positive for Covid-19 before departing for Japan. He remained in Korea and received treatment at home.
NCT 127 debuted in 2016 as a subunit of SM Entertainment's 23-member boy band NCT, and is best known for its songs "Firetruck" (2016), "Cherry Bomb" (2017), "Simon Says" (2018), "Kick It" (2020) and "Favorite" (2021).
