Samsung Electronics’ NAND sales grew 3.4% on quarter to $6.32 billion in the first quarter to take up 35.3% of global market, up 2.2%p, according to Taiwanese market researcher TrendForce on Thursday. Combined with Solidigm it had acquired from Intel SK hynix’s share fell to 18% with total sales of $3.2 billion, off 10.7% on year. Japan’s Kioxia ranked between Samsung and SK with an 18.9% share. Global NAND sales fell 3% to $17.92 billion due to weak smartphone demand and slow season. Overall bit shipments jumped 9% on quarter and average sales price down 2%..
